Interactive configurator for Bosch Rexroth powered by CADENAS

Configurable 3D CAD models of the stand-alone hydraulic propulsion system CytroMotion are available for download

The companies CADENAS and Bosch Rexroth are working together since many years to provide the manufacturers‘ customers valuable planning data of drive and control technology. Thanks to the cooperation, designers can now configurate the product innovation CytroMotion online and download it as 3D CAD model.

During the german trade fair Hannover Messe 2022, Bosch Rexroth AG has introduced the product innovation CytroMotion and the related generating of 3D CAD models, which is based on CADENAS‘ technology. CytroMotion is a new and stand-alone axis in a compact design with an only electric actuator. It captivates by simple engineering and initial operation, a energy efficient and noiseless operating as well as a long and low-maintenance working life. Depending on the specific use case, CytroMotion can be speced with different motors, cylinders and pumps. Bosch Rexroth and CADENAS developed a 3D CAD configurator together, for customers and prospects to configure CytroMotion in only a few steps and to fit the CAD model in the suitable format directly into their designs afterwards.

Easy configuration and downloads in many common CAD formats

“For engineering it is crucial, to identify the suitable product early during the process. The CADENAS‘ configurators aid us in this very much“, says Richard Linke, Product Owner Digital Machine Engineering at Bosch Rexroth. User can configurate CytroMotion and examine their specifications in the 3D preview at the website of Bosch Rexroth. Because of that potential sources of error can be identified and corrected already during construction. By using filter assistants, the 3D CAD configurator supports finding the appropriate parameters. Afterwards the propulsion system’s product data are available in more than 150 current neutral and native CAD formats, like for Solid Edge®, Creo Parametric™, Autodesk® Inventor®, AutoCAD® or SolidWorks®, and can be integrated directly into the particular CAD system.

Transferring product information automatically to bills of material saves time managing data

Besides the stand-alone axis CytroMotion many further industrial hydraulics components of Bosch Rexroth are available as intelligent 3D CAD models. The offer of digital twins includes pump systems, too. This means, the product models contain detailled mechanic and electrotechnical information like colour, kinematic data and electric connections. Users can assemble components individually und generate CAD models in common CAD and CAE formats, analogous to CytroMotion. All component information are communicated directly into the bill of materials and the PLM system. “Our customers can optimize their construction processes and save time designing and managing data in different PDM, PLM and ERP systems because of our service“, tells Richard Linke. Beyond 3D CAD models, product data can be downloaded as 3D PDF data sheets containing all important information for documentation.

Besides the customers the company itself benefits from Bosch Rexroth’s new 3D CAD Service: The Multi CAD data allow internal process optimization, like a central generating and providing of product data as well as cost effective data maintenance.
