Bechtle and extended detection and response (XDR) specialist Cybereason are now offering customers a new EDR solution and services to safeguard end devices including PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and servers. Composed of a hardware appliance and software, the plug-and-play solution allows organisations such as government agencies or critical infrastructure providers, which are restricted in their ability to leverage cloud services, to reap the benefits of a highly-modern AI-driven security platform, all in compliance with strict internal, industry-specific or statutory policies and regulations. The appliance meets the criteria for attack detection systems set out by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), which apply to the defence of critical infrastructure under the German IT Security Act 2.0 effective from 1 May 2023. It enables organisations that operate across hybrid infrastructures to provide apps and data within their own data centre.
Co-developed by Cybereason and Bechtle’s Cyber Defence Centre, the new solution can be easily integrated into virtually any IT infrastructure, and—once the physical appliance has been implemented—allows for completely remote management. The solution fills a real need in the market, as so far even advanced endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems have relied on communicating with the provider cloud. By contrast, the new product allows organisations to retain all of their data assets within their on-premise data centre.

Bechtle will be the exclusive channel partner for the new product until the end of the year. In addition, customers can choose to leverage complimentary and multi-tiered managed services ranging from implementation to operation, including the holistic Bechtle Security Operation Centre (SOC) offering delivered by Cyber Defence Centre experts.
