MATLAB EXPO 2023 Features More than 50 Online Sessions Focused on Eight Trending Technology Areas, Including AI, Electrification, and Wireless Communications

MathWorks previewed the agenda for MATLAB EXPO 2023 to be held live across multiple international time zones during May 10–11, 2023. Engineers, researchers, educators, and scientists can learn about new technological advancements and trends in eight separate technology areas, including AI, wireless communications, autonomous systems and robotics, and electrification. Attendance is free, and registration is now open at: www.matlabexpo.com/online/2023.html.

MATLAB EXPO Program Highlights

Senior MathWorks and industry technology experts will explore the latest features and capabilities of MATLAB® and Simulink® through real-world examples and interactive demonstrations. This year’s event features more than 50 sessions, plenary presentations, and seven hands-on workshops across eight technical tracks led by experts from academia and companies from various industries. MATLAB EXPO will also feature a Technology Showcase area, highlighting the latest innovations from MathWorks and its industry partners.

The event will feature keynote presentations from industry and MathWorks leaders. Jens Dietrich, Head of Transmission Software Development, Siemens Energy, will present on “How Siemens Energy Enables the Global Energy Transition.” Mr. Dietrich will discuss how the company is forming the power grid of the future to address energy security, equity, and sustainability, also known as the energy trilemma. Attendees will also learn how Siemens Energy uses Model-Based Design to strengthen power grids and provide solutions for customers seeking clean and available energy.

Claire Lucas, Professor of Engineering at King’s College London, will present a keynote talk on “Project-Based Learning and Design Simulation,” highlighting the parallels between system design and learning processes and how these are used to enhance student knowledge, experience, and skills. Prof. Lucas will demonstrate how project-based learning and design can be applied in a research-intensive environment at scale by embedding authentic simulation methodologies within learning modules and using MATLAB and Simulink as a learning environment and for assessment.

In his presentation “Moonshots: How Engineers and Scientists Are Achieving the Impossible,” Dr. Arun Mulpur, Industry Director at MathWorks, will share examples of how engineers and scientists are pursuing seemingly impossible goals, such as generating unlimited clean energy, advancing healthcare to save and improve lives, traveling to Mars, and exploring the universe. Attendees will learn about these visionary projects and how MATLAB and Simulink enable engineers and scientists to achieve what was previously thought impossible.

Flexible Access to Interactive Presentations

As an online event, MATLAB EXPO 2023 is open to participants worldwide. On both days, the event will be repeated in three blocks of 3.5 hours each for participants in three time zones. Those located in Asia (9:00 a.m. IST), Europe (10:00 a.m. CEST), and U.S. East (11:00 a.m. EDT) will have the opportunity to select sessions from any block to suit their schedules.
