Bestseller Fashion Group China (BFGC) has selected Centric Software to provide its product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
BFGC markets clothing and accessories in more than 6,000 stores in China, under four Bestseller brands (Only, Jack & Jones, Vero Moda and Selected) as well as the independent J. Lindeberg brand. The company will use the Centric PLM software for apparel, retail, footwear, luxury and consumer goods companies to support growth, further optimize product development, and improve supply chain processes, according to Dan Friis, CEO of BFGC.
The purchase highlights Centric’s stated plans for Asian expansion. In July, the company closed on $24 million in growth capital financing. One of the primary goals of the financing round was to help Centric expand its presence in the China market, according to Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric.
“China presents one of the biggest opportunities in the apparel and consumer products market, with both brands and retailers,” says Groves. “Centric has a tremendous amount to offer these companies as they grow and expand, and BFGC is a perfect example of the demand and Centric’s ability to quickly meet that demand.”
“The Centric 8 PLM software for retail, fashion and consumer goods companies will allow BFGC to drive business value through technology,” says Friis. BFGC will look to Centric 8 to enhance the experience of product designers, improve efficiency and productivity among design and buying teams, and better facilitate collaboration and communication between their buyers and suppliers, he explains. “Optimizination of supply chain management activities will enable a more transparent production management process, and allow for comprehensive purchase order tracking and handling.”
“As the Chinese consumer products market expands and becomes more sophisticated, so too, are BFGC’s business processes,” Groves says. “Centric 8 will help BFGC boost efficiency, productivity and its ability to manage market complexities tremendously.”
