Siemens joins forces with Tietoevry to further digitalize power utility sector in the Nordics

Siemens and Tietoevry, a leading Nordic digital engineering and software company, have teamed up to accelerate the digital transformation of the power utilities sector in Northern and Central Europe. Using Siemens’ Gridscale X software platform in conjunction with their own IT services, Tietoevry will be adding new capabilities to their solutions to support grid operators in the Nordics to effectively manage their grids and address challenges related to the energy transition.

Tietoevry supports its customers in the energy domain with next-generation energy industry solutions to digitalize the value chain, improve customer experience, enhance business performance, improve usability and productivity, and empower customers. By working with Siemens, Tietoevry can provide a wider range of IT services to grid operators in the Nordics, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources, and increase of grid capacity, while maintaining a resilient and future-proof infrastructure.

Magnus Torronen, Head of Siemens Grid Software in Northern Europe, said: “The ongoing energy transition requires significant changes to the existing grid infrastructure and how it is managed. Due to the electrification of everything, and rapid growth of distributed energy resources, companies need to think about new ways of working and collaborating. We need to look across sectors and the ecosystem, leverage the strengths of different organizations, and collaborate to successfully and quickly meet our net zero targets. Partnering with Tietoevry enables us to support utilities in a completely new way.”

“The partnership, leveraging Siemens expertise and the Gridscale X software platform, helps us add more capabilities to our next-generation solutions supporting our utility customers in grid life-cycle management and addressing challenges related to grid flexibility,” added Niko Jauhiainen, Head of Asset & Data Solutions, Energy & Utilities, Tietoevry.
