BETA CAE Systems announces the release of the v25.0.2 of its software suite

About this release

We officially announce the v25.0.2 release, for ANSA, EPILYSIS, META, KOMVOS, SPDRM and FATIQ.

With this release, v25.0.x series is further enriched with boosted performance and more stability, yet greater flexibility, thanks to critical bug fixes and selected implementations.

Follows an overview of the most important items:

Known issues resolved in ANSA

Model Browser

“CAD to ANSA” functionality would not recognize folder paths with Chinese characters.

Data Management

Focusing on Logbook, selecting any values to be displayed in the embedded META Viewer, would result in the values of the next column being displayed instead.

In DM Browser, file attachments would be lost upon next iteration/download and while saving a new version of them.

Modular Run Management

Interface properties assigned to a set in a Connecting Subsystem, but defined in another Subsystem, would not be saved in the Connecting Subsystem file (as undefined).

In addition, through the Solver Job Logs, you can load and compare multiple Logs and can proceed with simultaneous Job monitoring.

Furthermore, definition of Superelements was not handled correctly.

Connections & Assembly

Converting Shells or Faces to Adhesive Faces would lead to an unexpected termination in case of using a Subsystem as “Current” and having active the Subsystem Draw Mode.

Moreover, realizing connections massively would take excessive amount of time on Windows OS

Shell Mesh

The "Improve" option within the “Paste” function would not work as expected.

Volume Mesh

ANSA would terminate while meshing volume with Tetra rapid algorithm that was defined on STL surface mesh.

Batch Meshing

Unmeshed macro areas would unnecessarily be generated during defeaturing.

Feature Manager

ANSA would exit abnormally, while trying to apply modifications on Ribs with no Draw Direction definition.

DECKs

Entities marked as deleted were still considered during application of “Near” function.

New properties would not be visible during creation of Plinks.

Regarding LS-DYNA, unexpected termination would occur when changing the T1 of SECTION_SHELL through Database Browser.

In addition, output of a file with curve IDs above LS-DYNA digit limits would lead to unexpected termination.

Unexpected software abortion would also occur during output of an LS-DYNA file, after compress action.

Focusing on CFD DECKs, certain TAU meshes from legacy meshing tools could not be read in ANSA.

Laminates

ABD matrix was not printed upon report generation, if PCOMPs were attached on geometric faces.

Optimization/SOL200

Through Topography wizard, ANSA would produce extra Task Items, not related to Topography Optimization.

Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS

General

Significant acceleration (x12) in data recovery phase for transient analysis with many time steps has taken place.

Transient Response Analysis

Significant performance improvements (30% - 70% depending on the case) for Transient Response Analysis for loadcases where many RFORCEs or TLOADs are defined.

AMLS

Significant acceleration has been implemented in AMLS phase 5 for “Fluid physical space responses recovery” in case of FRF calculation with detailed cavity models.

Superelement

EPILYSIS would terminate if SE data contained undefined DMIG, not used in assembly.

EPILYSIS would spend excessive time (minutes instead of seconds) upon output of the punch file for DMIGPCH Superelements on Windows OS.

Topology/SOL200

Unexpected termination would occur in cases with a combination of many DESVARs and many retained constraints (dual casting).

Known issues resolved in META

General

META would cease unexpectedly in the following cases:

  • while animating a model with failed solid elements
  • when accessing "Materials" window after deleting laminate property
  • when box-selecting solid elements, in case some of them were drawn as spheres
  • when picking elements, in case the model was read from an .op2 file
  • when selecting a MAT8 material on the 3D window

Read Results

Abaqus .odb files were not read properly by “Template Manager” since v25.0.0.

In addition, incorrect reading of template could occur, when "Activate models of active window" was enabled.

Managing Curve Data

Curves were not read properly when multiple groups of channels were defined in the format.

On the other hand, curves from ERFH5 files were read multiple times, when read from session file.

Modal Displacements were not read from SOL111 and SOL112 results file, when the option Modal Displacement (contribution analysis) was selected.

TDMS files were not read correctly either.

NVH Calculators

Referencing FRF Assembly, Disassembly tool did not work properly since v25.0.0.

Regarding Modal/FRF Correlation, an unexpected termination would occur when loading results from Nastran SOL105 dynamic subcase solution.

Focusing on Modal Response, Element Participations of Grid Point Forces were not calculated in Transient Response.

Plus, there was a slight numerical error in mechanical intensity calculation in Transient Response.

Lastly, incorrect results could occur when using only Structural Damping from Stiffness matrix.

CFD Decks

The drawing of millions of Flowpaths can now seamlessly take place in META.

Project Files & METADB

Unexpected termination of META would occur when reading compressed (.zip) project files.

Known issues resolved in KOMVOS

General

The CAD2CAE tool would not recognize part instances properly and, thus, assign them to the submodels.

Data Management

It would not be possible to edit an attached file of a Subsystem.

On the other hand, editing files would copy the edited file in the current working directory, depending on the user's write permissions.

Machine Learning

KOMVOS would fail to train curve predictors (2d) due to not having a default curve handling setting.

Known issues resolved in SPDRM

Data Management

Modifying the Status Property of a Subsystem would erroneously lead to the corruption of the stored DM object.

Data Model

The Conditional Attributes setting that is defined in the data model would be ignored. For example, the Properties card would allow to switch Subsystem's Status from OK to WIP, while it shouldn't.

Users Management – Security

LDAP authentication would not work properly when multiple LDAP domain controllers were defined in the LDAP_URL key of server configuration file (taxis.conf).

Moreover, it would not be possible to set ACLs (privileges) on data based on the value of a particular property/attribute (e.g. Project), in case the list of its accepted values was defined according to rules.

Known issues resolved in FATIQ

Calculations

Regarding Strain Life, Endurance limit was taken into consideration.

Plasticity correction was always included in the analysis, even if it was deactivated in analysis configurator.

Materials

Log-Log and Log-Linear interpolation methods were not calculated correctly.
