Bechtle receives SBTi validation for 2050 net-zero targets

Bechtle AG has received official confirmation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) that its net-zero targets meet the organisation’s criteria. Following the validation of its near and mid-term climate goals earlier this year, Bechtle’s long-term net-zero targets for 2050 have now also been assessed and approved in line with scientifically recognised standards.

With its net-zero targets, Bechtle commits to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1 and 2 by 90% by 2050. For Scope 3.1 and 3.11, the company aims to cut emissions by 97% per €1,000 of value creation. Bechtle will neutralise any remaining emissions through credible carbon removal measures. Key levers for decarbonisation include energy, mobility and procurement. The validation of its 2050 targets underscores Bechtle’s long-term commitment to climate action and sustainability across the entire value chain.

Bechtle had already secured SBTi validation for its near and mid-term climate targets in mid-2025. By 2030, the company aims to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1 and 2 by 54.4%, and cut Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services (3.1) and the use of sold products (3.11) by 55% per €1,000 of value creation. The baseline year for all targets is 2019.

“This second validation shows that we’re not just setting ambitious targets, but also aligning them consistently with recognised scientific standards. It sends a clear signal of our commitment to sustainable business practices across the entire value chain,” says Antje Leminsky, COO, Bechtle AG.

The SBTi is a joint initiative by the global non-profit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), UN Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to support organisations in achieving emission reduction targets in line with the latest climate science.
