Aras, a leader in product lifecycle management (PLM) and digital thread solutions, announced that Red Bull has implemented the Aras Innovator platform as part of a global product lifecycle management (PLM) initiative to support its digital transformation. This software as a service (SaaS) system is tailored to handle growing complexity, guarantee regulatory compliance, and improve transparency throughout Red Bull’s international operations. It also fosters collaboration among Red Bull’s global staff and different divisions.
With operations in over 180 countries, Red Bull faces significant operational complexity due to variations in ingredients, labeling, and regulatory requirements. These differences require a scalable, unified system that can adapt to diverse market needs. Establishing a unified digital foundation and moving away from disparate tools is essential for Red Bull to ensure transparency, reliability, and compliance.
The Aras Innovator platform offers a flexible, low-code environment that consolidates product data and processes into a single system. The initial rollout focuses on raw materials and recipe development, and compliance management. Red Bull plans to expand its use of the platform to include the entire packaging and artwork development process, and the generation of bills of materials (BOMs). These BOMs will then feed directly into downstream systems for SKU planning and production.
Full Functionality from Day One
“Red Bull previously relied on legacy systems, spreadsheets, and email workflows,” said Leon Lauritsen, CEO of Aras. “As regulatory requirements become more complex, these methods are no longer sustainable. Our platform helps global companies like Red Bull establish traceability, improve collaboration, and scale efficiently.”
The PLM system is integrated with Red Bull’s SAP S/4HANA environment. It was launched using a global roll-out approach, replacing legacy infrastructure with full functionality from day one. Next implementation phases are already part of Red Bull’s PLM program roadmap.
