The company sought to replace manual processes, including Excel spreadsheets, Illustrator-based BOM management, and extensive email chains, with a connected digital platform providing real-time visibility and control.
With DeSL’s PLM, Specialist Sports will manage product creation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), size charts, Requests for Development (RFD), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and Quality Control within a single system. DeSL’s Purchase Order Management solution will integrate with Microsoft Business Central, enabling clearer tracking of development status and product approvals, and enable more accurate timing of purchase order placement to support on-time deliveries.
Previously, tech packs and sample reviews required significant manual copy and paste work across Excel and Illustrator, increasing complexity and the risk of errors. By digitising tech pack management, Specialist Sports will streamline development, improve accuracy, and enable faster sharing of product information with factories and partners such as adidas through a live portal, eliminating the need for multiple PDF exports and email chains.
The implementation also supports Specialist Sports’ ambition to expand into additional sport categories and increase development capacity. By automating manual processes and centralising workflows, the business gains the bandwidth to support new product initiatives beyond its Teamwear licensed operations.
