BETA CAE Systems announces the release of 2025.1HF2 version of its software suite

We officially announce the 2nd Hot Fix of 2025.1 for ANSA, EPILYSIS, META, FATIQ and KOMVOS with critical bug fixes and selected implementations.

Follows an overview of the most important items:

Known issues resolved in ANSA

CAD to ANSA Translators

CAD to ANSA might fail for parts that contained the special character "%" in an attribute value.

CAD Import/Export

During export of STEP files, torus surfaces were not converted correctly.

Sketch 3D

Unexpected termination would occur when projecting a curve on shells with "Project on Source" direction.

GUI

ANSA would cease to respond in cases where multiple models were loaded in different windows, and the Fringe Plot was active.

In addition, screen view would jitter upon mouse click, while space mouse was active.

General

"NODE enumber" function would cause an abnormal software abortion when called from the search engine.

Moreover, referenced entities would not return the nodes using them.

Model Browser

Upon execution of the function "Detect Instances", the Transformation Matrices were not calculated properly.

Modular Run Management

External connectors would disappear when replacing a simulation model from DM in a simulation run.

Data Management

Mesh parameters file was not read at all, while connected to a DM.

Connections & Assembly

Upon output, CBUSH entities generated through Connection Manager would not keep their orientation data.

Shell Meshing

Running check for solid cracks would lead to ANSA termination.

Also, ANSA would exit abnormally, in case of applying "Grids > Align" to target PLOTEL entities.

Volume Meshing

Focusing on function "Unstructured > Detect", volume with facets would not be detected, when facets selection was activated and adjacent shells had opposite orientation.

Also, after executing "Extrude > Offset" function and applying "Save", ANSA could cease to respond when transformations through keywords would exist in the model.

Referring to Structured Mesh, MAP window would not behave consistently after pressing "Back" to deselect entities.

Nastran

BGSET and BGADD would not be correctly output when "Parameter Output" option was set to "Model".

Abaqus

Creation of CONSTRAINT > COUPLINF > FACET entity, would lead to unexpected termination if surface facets were selected through the Poly Area feature selection tool or other related methods.

Pressing Tab key in Material Data Table would lead to an abnormal software abortion.

Moreover, Material Orientation using distribution would not be exported for membrane elements.

Ansys

A fatal error occurred during Solver Submission on Windows installations, when submitting an Ansys job with number of CPUs equal to 1.

Kinetics

ANSA would exit abruptly while trying to load a flexible body in Flex Tools after deleting its modal file.

Modal results for flex bodies would not be calculated on Linux OS.

Also, the function "Reference on Kinetics entities" would display obsolete information.

RVE Generator [Homogenize]

Homogenization with EPILYSIS solver would give wrong Homogenized results if Material Orientation was assigned to the meshed RVE.

Scripting

Running script function mesh.ReleaseElements() would lead to software abortion, if no argument was given (run on visible).

Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS

Contacts

Unexpected termination would occur in cases where both moment-carrying glue (IGLUE=3/4) and non-moment-carrying glue (IGLUE=1/2) contacts existed in the model.

Known issues resolved in META

GUI

Copying window settings from one window to another would lead META to cease responding.

Settings

Upon exit, META would overwrite settings in META.defaults, if their value was modified.

In addition, order of docked items in the left dock area was not captured correctly when saving GUI settings.

Moreover, custom ribbons would not be exported as .xml items through the "Customize" option provided in the ribbon tabs.

Nastran

Upon results’ reading, Non-Linear Plastic Strain was not interpreted as expected; a regression since version 25.1.3.

Abaqus

Unexpected termination could occur upon reading of results on integration points.

Furthermore, analytical surfaces, as well as DCOUP3D elements, would not be properly read from an .odb file.

Ansys

META would exit abruptly when deformation was loaded using displacements values stored in single-precision format.

In addition, the imaginary state was not scanned correctly, resulting in incorrect displacement results.

Axisymmetric elements were not read as expected, and Imaginary values were incorrect while reading displacement and reaction force results.

LS-DYNA

Unexpected termination would occur on "StressesMinusInitial, (ECS) scalar" label on LS-DYNA SPH models.

Unexpected termination would also occur during output of multiple curves into punch format.

In addition, D3ZCF files were not read correctly.

FEMZIP

META would cease operating when loading Pam-Crash erfh5.fzip files under "Read Results > Curves".

META would terminate abruptly when loading an ERF file, compressed with FEMZIP version 16.28.

Geometry was not properly read from FEMZIP ERF files. In specific, curves from .erfh5 files compressed in FEMZIP version16.28 and later would not be read, unless "File Format" was switched explicitly to "Pam-Crash", instead of "Auto detect".

FRF Assembly

Unexpected termination would occur when excluding at least one mode of a modal component and the component was connected using an FSI connector.

In addition, Disassembly tool did not work correctly when the starting frequency was set to 0 Hz.

Math Operations on Field Data

Animation bar calculations were not working as expected on states created by User Field Functions.

Project Files & METADB

Project file comments could not be retrieved when loading a project file saved using lossless settings.

2D Plots

Unexpected termination occurred when time history results were to be read and LS-DYNA abstat_cpm results were included in the same directory.

Furthermore, pressure curves from LS-DYNA cpm_sensor results were not plotted correctly.

Images & Video Handling

Since META v25.0.0, it was not possible to copy a video from one window to another.

Also, snapshots of report composer windows in batch mode would not provide the expected result.

Known issues resolved in KOMVOS

Configuration

Upon disconnecting from an SPDRM environment and trying to connect back, KOMVOS would freeze on the Settings Profile selection window.

Data Management

Upon launching, it would not be possible to select among the available settings profiles in SPDRM, in case of connection through external secure server (SSO).

Known issues resolved in FATIQ

General

Duration and repeats of multi-PSD events were not stored in .xml file.

Calculations

Unexpected termination would occur when channel calculation settings were set to independent, while the setting didn’t apply at this loading type.

Moreover, linear combination was not being executed correctly when using nodal stresses of .hdf format.

Weld Fatigue

Bending ratio and thickness correction factors were not read properly from the .xml file.
