Michelin Deploys Cosmo Tech AI Simulation to Strengthen S&OP Tactical Supply Planning Decision-Making

Cosmo Tech, a market leader in AI-Simulation software for enterprise decision-making, announces it has been selected by Michelin, a global tire and mobility products manufacturer, to automate and enhance its Tactical Supply Planning process, enabling faster and more reliable supply chain decisions.

The initiative, part of Michelin’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, centers on ATS² (AI-powered Tactical Supply Simulation), Michelin’s Tactical Supply Planning capability powered by Cosmo Tech AI Simulation technology.

ATS² follows a structured, progressive path to smarter supply chain planning. In this first step, supply chain teams are empowered to generate and test a broad range of supply-demand balancing scenarios and variants, while strictly respecting Michelin’s business rules and operational constraints. This capability marks the first step in a longer journey with Cosmo Tech – toward probabilistic S&OP decision intelligence that systematically models and manages uncertainty at scale.

“At Michelin, we are continuously looking to strengthen the robustness of our supply chain planning processes. Integrating Cosmo Tech AI Simulation into our S&OP Tactical Supply Planning is a meaningful step in that direction – providing our teams with a structured way to explore scenarios and support more informed decision-making in an increasingly complex and uncertain global environment,” said Céline Mortz, Industrial Supply Chain Director at Michelin.

“Reaching this new milestone with Michelin underscores the power of our collaboration founded on trust, performance, and a shared vision for innovation. We are honored to deepen our collaboration and continue delivering tangible, lasting impact across S&OP Tactical Supply Planning,” said Maxime Le Pendeven, Director Key Accounts at Cosmo Tech.

Tackling the Complexity of Global Supply Chain Planning with AI Simulation

Michelin operates a highly complex, global supply chain, where Tactical Supply Planning requires balancing demand forecasts, inventory norms, plant flexibility and capacities, and inter-plant flows on a monthly basis. Supply chain teams sought to improve their ability to respond rapidly to demand variability and market changes.

Michelin selected the Cosmo Tech solution for its ability to automate and enhance their existing planning processes, simulate a broad range of scenarios within operational timelines, and deliver rapid decisions grounded in explicit, auditable business rules.

“Michelin is tackling one of the most complex challenges in global supply chain management: transforming a consensus demand plan into an executable, resilient, and optimized supply plan at worldwide scale. Their decision to embrace AI Simulation and Decision Intelligence reflects a strong commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. We are proud to partner with Michelin on this journey and help turn complexity and uncertainty into faster, more confident decisions,” – said Hugues de Bantel, Co-founder of Cosmo Tech and President EMEAI.

Michelin’s operations span 70 production plants worldwide, with a presence in more than 170 countries. With annual sales of approximately €26 billion in 2025, Michelin stands as a global leader in mobility and sustainability, delivering the most innovative tires, services, and solutions to meet the evolving needs of customers across every market it serves.
