Siemens presents Vectron X and Siemens Xcelerator portfolio at InnoTrans 2026

Four years after launching its Siemens Xcelerator journey in rail, Siemens Mobility is bringing its open digital business platform into rolling stock for the first time. Making its InnoTrans debut, Vectron X extends the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio from Signaling X, Mobility Software Suite X, and Railigent X to the locomotive itself, marking the next major step toward a more connected, software-defined rail ecosystem. At InnoTrans 2026, the company will demonstrate how data and artificial intelligence help operators increase capacity, improve availability and reliability, enhance the passenger experience, and optimize lifecycle costs. With a 1,000+ m² booth, approximately 45 indoor exhibits, immersive digital experiences, and more than 300 meters of outdoor displays, Siemens Mobility showcases technologies that are delivering proven results for customers around the world. Visit Siemens Mobility in Hall 27, Booth 230.

Vectron X: Bringing Siemens Xcelerator to the locomotive

At the heart of Siemens Mobility’s presence at InnoTrans is Vectron X, the company’s new software-defined locomotive platform. Designed as an open and connected platform, Vectron X combines proven locomotive technology with digital services, an onboard App Store, and a central Smart Screen that integrates operational data, route information, and customer-, operator-, and third-party applications in a single interface. Enabled by Railigent X, the new locomotive continuously evolves with software updates and new digital capabilities throughout its lifecycle. One of the centerpiece demonstrations at the booth connects a Vectron X driver's cab with Signaling X, Mobility Software Suite X, and Railigent X through open data, APIs, and cloud technologies, showcasing an integrated rail ecosystem.

AI in action across the rail ecosystem

A central highlight of the exhibition is Siemens Mobility's immersive AI cinema experience, demonstrating how operational data can be transformed into actionable insights across the entire rail system. Featured use cases include:

  • Intelligent passenger information and travel assistance
  • Data-driven infrastructure monitoring and diagnostics

Transforming rail infrastructure: Intelligent technologies for better efficiency

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Siemens Mobility’s innovative solutions for digital rail infrastructure, led by Signaling X – the company’s integrated technology foundation for the digital transformation of rail infrastructure. By connecting proven rail technologies with digital capabilities, standardized software and hardware platforms, and open interfaces, Signaling X provides a software-defined, cloud-ready, modular, and interoperable architecture that empowers rail operators to optimize network performance, resilience, and cybersecurity on existing infrastructure while simultaneously reducing lifecycle costs and energy consumption. 

As part of Siemens Mobility's continued expansion of Signaling X for countries and cities, the company will present its family of Smart Object Controllers for the intelligent control of railway field assets. Together with DS3, Siemens Mobility's safety platform running on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware for all signaling applications, it demonstrates how digital intelligence can be extended to the field level to support more flexible and scalable rail operations.

Lifecycle optimization through data & AI in maintenance

With Railigent X and its comprehensive service portfolio, Siemens Mobility Customer Services demonstrates how data intelligence and AI are redefining maintenance. Through integrated sensors and diagnostic systems, every asset – whether rolling stock like battery-powered trains or infrastructure – becomes a valuable data source. Additional train- and trackside measurement and monitoring systems, such as Vehicle Equipment Measurement Systems (VEMS) for automated vehicle inspection, further enhance asset transparency and performance. Based on these insights, Siemens experts proactively monitor fleets, diagnose faults remotely, and help resolve issues before they impact operations. AI-powered health-state models support predictive maintenance by forecasting failures and identifying the optimal timing for preventive interventions, extending maintenance intervals and keeping assets in service for longer. Over-the-air software updates keep vehicles up to date without additional depot visits, while the same data-driven approach supports spare parts management and component availability.

Software orchestrating the railway system

Software plays a crucial role in optimizing operations and connecting every element of modern mobility. Siemens Mobility´s software can be one of the most effective levers to increase the financial performance of a rail system by achieving more optimized network utilization and train usage. At InnoTrans, the company will present its Mobility Software Suite X portfolio to enhance passenger experience and increase digitally enabled capacity on the tracks and in the train. The company will showcase S3 Passenger Revenue Management, an AI-enabled module fully integrated into the S3 Passenger platform, connecting inventory management, fares, and reservations in real time to ensure optimized pricing and increased occupancy. AI-enhanced travel companion apps support passengers throughout their journey and AI-enabled disruption management streamlines communication, ensuring quicker reactions to disruptions. The Software portfolio also includes the Train Planning System (TPS) Suite, which helps operators increase infrastructure utilization by up to 20%. TPS.live offers AI-powered conflict resolution and network-wide optimization of rail traffic. For the first time, Siemens Mobility will present TPS.yardoptimizer, a cloud-ready SaaS solution for efficient yard management.

Delivery of complete, digitally enabled, end-to-end global rail systems

Siemens Mobility’s Turnkey business offers customers worldwide a holistic concept for developing rail infrastructure. At the Turnkey stand, a Velaro Novo exhibit highlights how Siemens high-speed platforms are connecting people, cities, and economies around the world. Alongside this showcase, Turnkey demonstrates how digital twin simulations support projects from planning and delivery through operations, helping customers improve efficiency, reliability, and project execution.
