Welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk: The next chapter in connected operations

Earlier this year, we introduced Autodesk Operations Solutions (AOS) and shared our vision for helping customers connect design, make, and operate in a continuous lifecycle. We also announced our intent to acquire MaintainX, a leading mobile-first computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve completed that acquisition. This is an important milestone and the beginning of the next chapter as we thoughtfully bring together our teams, technologies, and expertise over time.

Building on a strong foundation

Operations isn’t new for Autodesk. For years, we’ve helped customers better understand, optimize, and improve real-world operations through solutions like Tandem, FlexSim, Fusion Operations, and Factory Design Utilities. Earlier this year, we brought these technologies together under AOS, reflecting our belief that the lifecycle shouldn’t end when something is designed or made. Customers need connected workflows that span design, construction, manufacturing, and operations, bringing together the people, data, and processes that drive better outcomes. MaintainX builds on that strategy. Its mobile-first CMMS platform is trusted by thousands of organizations around the world to keep critical assets running every day. In bringing MaintainX into Autodesk, we’re significantly expanding our operations capabilities and adding an industry-leading solution to the unified platform we’re building. Together, these technologies strengthen our ability to help customers connect design, make, and operate, creating greater continuity, visibility, and intelligence across the full lifecycle.

Why operations matters

An asset’s lifecycle doesn’t end when it’s designed, manufactured, or built. The majority of its life is spent in operation. It’s during operation that design intent becomes reality. And it’s where the richest understanding of an asset is created. Every work order, inspection, maintenance activity, and operational decision adds context about how that asset is actually performing in the real world. Over time, connecting that operational context with design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction information creates opportunities for customers to work in new ways. Better information can lead to better decisions. Richer lifecycle context can support more connected workflows. And as AI continues to evolve, having that connected foundation becomes even more important. That’s the opportunity we’re investing in and the future we’re building toward.

A shared future

Today marks the beginning of our journey together. Our focus now is on executing thoughtfully, supporting our customers, bringing our teams together, and continuing to build on the strong foundation we’ve established.
