Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that Paul Mascarenas, OBE, former chief technology officer at Ford Motor Company, was appointed to serve on the company’s board of directors effective March 4, 2015.

Paul Mascarenas serves as president and chairman of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA), an umbrella organization for national automotive societies around the world. He is also presently serving as a special venture partner (SVP) at Fontinalis Partners, a sector-focused investment firm that invests exclusively in next-generation mobility opportunities. In addition, he currently serves on the Board of ON Semiconductor Corporation.
Prior to retiring in October of 2014, Mr. Mascarenas spent 32 years at Ford Motor Company, most recently as chief technical officer and vice president, Research and Advanced Engineering, with responsibility for innovation activities, including the strategy, development and implementation of key technologies in all Ford and Lincoln brand vehicles. Previous positions at Ford included several years each as vice president, Global Engineering; vice president, Vehicle Programs; executive director, Product Development, for medium and large vehicles in North America; and chief program engineer for the Ford Mondeo in Europe.
Mr. Mascarenas holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of London, King's College. He is also a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and an SAE International Fellow. In June 2013, he received an honorary doctorate degree from Chongqing University in China. In 2015, he was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the automotive industry.
