AVEVA today announced the latest release of AVEVA Diagrams, engineering software that enables the creation and delivery of intelligent P&IDs and other schematics. This major software update will enable process and systems engineers to collaborate more efficiently on multi-discipline projects thereby eliminating errors and inconsistencies that could otherwise lead to costly subsequent rework.
‘AVEVA Diagrams is much more than just a schematics design program’, explains Dave Wheeldon, Chief Technology Officer, AVEVA. ‘It is a sophisticated, object-centric application with the ability to effectively create engineering and design data. At the same time, it can control and communicate change across multi-discipline projects that deliver real cost, quality and schedule benefits to our customers’.
AVEVA has developed the latest version of AVEVA Diagrams working closely with customers, including the defence and security company, SAAB. Mr Wheeldon added, ‘AVEVA Diagrams is a key application within our customers engineering software and we were very happy they were able to provide feedback to AVEVA regarding its future development. Feedback has included that the enhancements can enable engineers to optimise their use of AVEVA Diagrams quickly and easily to work more productively on projects requiring fewer iterations to develop a final, fully compliant and accurate schematic design. Companies have already experienced the benefit of reduced man-hours and improved quality across entire projects’.
Importantly, AVEVA Diagrams also makes it easy to export information to third-party solutions and integrates easily with other AVEVA engineering and design products, including AVEVA Everything3D. This enables the control and sharing of a common set of project information across all disciplines, a prerequisite for the development of Lean Construction methodologies.
AVEVA Diagrams is part of AVEVA’s Integrated Engineering & Design solution, which dramatically improves design and engineering process efficiency for major capital projects, as well as for asset modification and revamps.
