Dassault Systèmes today announced that its 3DEXPERIENCE platform for Academia is available on the cloud. The academic field now has simplified and secured access to Dassault Systèmes’ product design, digital manufacturing, realistic simulation and collaborative innovation applications on the cloud that have transformed industrial processes worldwide.
For several years, Dassault Systèmes has collaborated with educators and students across various institutions and disciplines in order to create a flexible, tailored set of solutions that would place easy and natural collaboration between teachers, researchers, students and industry mentors at the center of social innovation.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform for Academia on the cloud helps teachers and students save time and ease workloads and project execution through innovative teaching and learning practices, all while delivering the technical benefits of the cloud—easy deployment and maintenance, and secured data access anytime, anywhere on a student’s or an institution’s own devices that eliminates the need for complex IT infrastructure.
The disciplinary reach of the new platform has been significantly extended to support educational, research and organizational processes in design and engineering, systems engineering, manufacturing and now architecture and civil engineering.

Students can start projects on campus, continue them at home and discuss issues in online communities or screen-sharing sessions. At any time, teachers can remotely monitor projects, manage idea maturity and assign grades when they have been completed.
In addition, various types of learning material and industry-specific application case studies are made available, and a new certification program provides students with the credentials they need to enhance their employability.
