Infor Announces Cloud-Based Offering to Help Automotive Customers Maintain EDI Compliance

Infor announced Infor AutoRelease Cloud, to provide automotive customers with a cloud-based iSeries solution. This release helps minimize risk for Infor AutoRelease customers that have not upgraded their iSeries platforms to current or supported levels, by providing a cost effective alternative to upgrading their hardware, operating systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. Infor AutoRelease Cloud provides a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) option, enabling automotive manufacturers and OEM providers to stay compliant with electronic data interchange (EDI) trading partners without incurring the added capital expenses associated with full ERP upgrades.

This release builds upon Infor's strategic vision as a cloud-technology provider by helping legacy customers obtain a modern IT infrastructure without additional capital investment. Automotive customers can easily switch from an on-premise deployment to a SaaS subscription; this will help customers reduce ongoing maintenance costs, bolster business continuity and maintain industry-level compliance with EDI trading partners.

The single-tenant SaaS offering features the latest IBM Power Systems and O/S, along with an automatic upgrade to ArtForm for Bar Code Labels and Forms. The upgrade is built using HTML5, which also provides customers with a consumer grade, browser-based user interface. Extensions to this configurable interface enable connectivity and seamless integration to on-premise iSeries based ERP solutions. Infor Implementation Accelerators are available at an additional charge to quickly execute the cloud migration process.

"We recognize that our customers vary greatly in both size and scope of service to the industry, so it's important to us that we provide tools to help each meet the unique goals of their organization in a cost-effective and efficient manner. With Infor AutoRelease Cloud, customers can modernize their technology footprint without the need for a full ERP upgrade," said Jeff Rheingans, senior director, Automotive, Infor. "Infor is the industry-focused cloud company, so we strive to deliver a wide-range of solutions to all of our customers, tailored to their size and industry."
