Trimble announced today that it has sold The Omega Group assets to TriTech Software Systems, a leading provider of public safety software. TriTech intends to grow the acquired business as part of its public safety portfolio. The Omega Group is a leading provider of cloud-based and on-premise operational performance support software that integrates mapping, analytics, intelligence, and mobile technologies for public safety agencies. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
"This transaction is an element of our continuing program to tighten our corporate focus," said Steven W. Berglund, president and CEO of Trimble. "While public safety remains an attractive market, the capital required to achieve scale and growth in the market could be better employed by Trimble in other markets."

The Omega Group has been reported as part of Trimble's Mobile Solutions segment. The divestiture will not have a material impact on either overall or segment financial results.
