In conjunction with Solid Edge University being held this week, Siemens PLM Software’s new Solid Edge for Startups program is now providing free access to Solid Edge, a portfolio of software tools that address key aspects of the product development process – 3D design, simulation, manufacturing, data management, and more.
The program offers qualifying businesses one year of free access to engineering software and learning resources. The program will initially be available in the US and the UK, with other countries to follow.
“New businesses need access to the best tools and technologies to bring their ideas to market quickly, but they often lack the resources to acquire the professional grade software they need. The Solid Edge for Startups program makes it very easy for new businesses – whether they are designing products or performing engineering services – to access our premium version of Solid Edge along with online training resources and community support," remarks John Fox, VP Marketing, Mainstream Engineering, Siemens PLM Software.
Ian Henderson, COO of Skybridge UAS, and a Solid Edge Startup Program participant, said, "One of the largest struggles of a startup is obtaining adequate funding — and engineering, specifically enabled by a CAD tool, is the cornerstone of bringing the concept to reality. What Siemens has done with their Solid Edge product is revolutionary; the ability to stretch our funds ultimately gives us that much more of a chance to make it to market. I see Siemens as a partner and investor in our company, and I look forward to working with them for years to come."
Applications are now available online.
