Infor today announced that Whelen Engineering Company has selected Infor CloudSuite Industrial, Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Accelerate to modernize operations and support the company's digital transformation goals. From selling and sourcing to production and fulfillment, this robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution provides organization-wide visibility.

Specifically, Whelen Engineering was looking to replace its homegrown ERP solutions and implement a unified platform that would drive operational proficiencies for people, processes, and technology. The use of cloud-based applications will help the organization better meet customer promises, take them to the global market, and digitally transform into a more agile, Make-to-Order and Configure-to-Order environment.

Whelen manufactures audio and visual warning equipment for automotive, aviation, and mass notification industries -- anything from warning lights, white illumination lighting, sirens, controllers, etc. The company also sells in many different ways -- direct, through distributors, and through an extensive OEM network for standard products. Infor CPQ will provide the organization with a comprehensive set of solutions to capture knowledge about customizable products once, and then share with dealers and their sales force, deliver personalized proposals, reduce order errors and detailed visualization during quoting and ordering. Also, Infor PLM Accelerate integrates with an organization's ERP and CAD systems and unifies the product development process across mechanical, electronics, software, and firmware. The solution will enable Whelen to manage more complex configurations of the bill of materials (BOM), bring data together from across the product lifecycle, securely enable global supply chain access, and provide systems engineering functionality.
