ASICS has successfully implemented Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution on time and on budget.
“We knew that our PLM project with Centric would be challenging, due to the size and global nature of our operations as well as the sheer number of people involved. But we are pleased to report that Centric has lived up to our expectations and that we are now live with Centric PLM,” says Takahiro Mizumoto, Manager, SCM Solution Team, Global IT Division for ASICS Corporation.
ASICS adopted the full suite of Centric PLM modules across its three brands: ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger and ASICS Tiger. ASICS started managing all global products with materials during their first season on Centric PLM. “We were able to go live on time and on budget because of several factors. First and foremost is the experience of the Centric implementation team who were able to impart their technical and industry best practices knowledge. Second is the highly configurable nature of Centric PLM which does not require any customization. And finally, Centric’s Agile DeploymentSM Methodology which rolled us out incrementally, using micro adjustments and a smooth handover to the ASICS teams.”
As Mizumoto explains, “We have already identified clear business benefits from the project. Merchandising and Development can now collaborate in one system, making communication easier and more efficient. We are swiftly eliminating unnecessary repetitive operations, speeding up data analysis and improving the credibility and visibility of data. ASICS has a global reach and Centric’s system gives us a better grasp of our overall apparel, footwear and accessory business, including regional products. Communication with factories is already much better and we are finding it easier to manage information about sizes and costs. So many aspects of our business are faster, more consolidated and more efficient with Centric PLM.”
“This is a complex project with a wide geographical scope, but we are confident in the abilities, knowledge, and professionalism of the Centric team,” concludes Mizumoto.
“We are very pleased that ASICS has successfully implemented Centric PLM and that they are already experiencing significant benefits in terms of speed and efficiency,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric Software. “We look forward to continuing our partnership as ASICS moves into the next stage of their PLM project.”
