Designlive Inc. and X3DMedia Limited, publishers of product development technology magazine, DEVELOP3D, have announced DEVELOP3D LIVE USA 2017, to be held at Boston University on 23 - 24 October 2017.
The event will bring together some of the world’s best practitioners of product development and manufacturing, as well as providers of advanced technologies for creating the inventions of the future.
Returning to Boston following its successful launch in 2016, this year’s two day conference and exhibition will focus on advanced product development and manufacturing technology.
Highlights include keynotes from some of the most revered design and engineering leaders alongside hotly anticipated, up-and-coming talent from the world of product development.
These include:
- Hackrod - Founder Mike ‘Mouse’ McCoy will discuss his team’s ground breaking work to bring artificial intelligence and 3D printing to the automotive world
- VER - the creators of ESPN’s Front Row Cam will explain how robotics and 3D printing are bringing sports fans closer to the action
- Award winning designer Jordan Nollman of Boston-based Sprout Studios
- Talks from industrial 3D Printing leaders: Carbon, Markforged, Formlabs, Ultimaker, 3D Systems and Desktop Metal
- CAD and modelling specialists: Autodesk, PTC, Siemens, SolidWorks, Onshape, SolidThinking
- Enterprise Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality developers: Unreal and ESI
- With tours of the Engineering Product Innovation Center (EPIC) of Boston University, showcasing design, prototyping and making.

With a revolution underway in product design, DEVELOP3D LIVE USA will showcase the latest technologies bring digital fabrication to the desktop. We will seea how Formlabs has brought an affordable laser sintering 3D printer to market; a demonstration of groundbreaking real-time simulation system from Ansys, and an entire track focused on how companies can take advantage of additive manufacturing, from design with software and advanced topology optimization, to the latest in metal part production.
With Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality becoming increasingly affordable and accessible, DEVELOP3D LIVE will offer examples and hands on experience with the latest VR/AR technology for product design and engineering applications.
Running in tandem with the two-day conference, DEVELOP3D LIVE’s exhibition will feature over 40 leading providers of technology and services to help designers and engineers work smarter and more efficiently. Exhibitors include founding sponsors HP and AMD, as well as Autodesk, Siemens PLM, Ansys, Foundry, Markforged, Onshape, Ultimaker, Faro, PTC, Tech Soft 3D, solidThinking, openBom, Formlabs, Kenesto and many more.
“We are in the midst of a revolution: The world of both design and fabrication are changing dramatically.” said event director Martyn Day. “With the rise of additive manufacturing, distributed design and production and the onslaught of affordable virtual and augmented reality hardware, it may seem that the future is bright.”
“The reality is that the future is here, right now, and we’ll show you how you can take advantage of it to boost productivity, gain more efficiency and bring breakthrough products to market,” he continued.
Tickets cost $50 for access to both days of the conference, but for a limited time tickets are available for early bird delegates at just $30 until 25th September: https://d3dliveusa.com/tickets/
