Nicholson will make a keynote presentation at PLM Road Map™ 2014 that will show how PLM can help accelerate product development when it enables well managed model-based systems engineering.
In his keynote address, “Model-Based Systems Engineering and PLM,” Nicholson will show how important it is for the systems engineers of the future to have realistic, virtual models which can evolve as knowledge is acquired, thus providing the best decision making environment possible for producing robust products. Nicholson is the Executive Director for Global Embedded Controls at GM. In this role he is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the global engineering team that is responsible for all powertrain controllers and software as well as calibrating all powertrains, providing customer-pleasing drive quality, and ensuring compliance with tailpipe emissions standards, and on-board diagnostics. Nicholson joined GM in 1982 and has an extensive background in product engineering progressing through a series of leadership positions in the USA and in Germany.
