CIMdata Publishes eBook: “Achieving the Most from Model-Based Enterprise Implementations”

The Razorleaf Approach

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, 18 October 2017—CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, released a new eBook focused on Model-Based Enterprise (MBE).

This eBook describes what a model-based enterprise is and also describes several related concepts including digital thread and digital twin. The core premise of the eBook is MBE enabled by a product innovation platform is a key strategy necessary to support the rapidly growing complexity of software-enabled, connected products. Several MBE related projects implemented by Razorleaf, a leading system integrator that focuses on bridging the gap between business issues and product lifecycle management (PLM) enabling technologies are reviewed in the eBook. The case studies show how a model-based approach can support end-to-end processes and provided sustainable business value.

According to Mr. Tom Gill, PLM Enterprise Value & Integration Knowledge Council Manager, “When Razorleaf approached CIMdata about publishing this eBook on MBE, we were excited. We believe that MBE enabled by a product innovation platform is the state of the art in strategies to address product complexity. Embedded software and connected products are dramatically changing the scope of value delivered to customers and while well received in the market, the companies developing, delivering, and supporting these products are struggling to ensure customer cost, reliability, and performance requirements. In working with Razorleaf on this project, we were impressed with their knowledge about MBE and the successes they have had supporting their customers’ MBE journeys.”
