Versprille, Ph.D., passed away on 18 April 2024 after a short illness. Ken was a respected colleague and a pioneer in the global mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) market. Ken received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and earned his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Syracuse University. He is best known for his groundbreaking work on Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS), mathematical representations of 3D geometry that can accurately describe any shape from a simple 2D line, circle, arc, or curve to very complex 3D free-form surfaces or solids.
