Rohit Tangri, Vice President, Teamcenter Product Management, Marketing & Business Development, Siemens PLM Software

Rohit Tangri is the global lead for the Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development function for Lifecycle Collaboration Software at Siemens PLM Software, where he is responsible the product strategy and direction for the Teamcenter brand within the Siemens PLM product portfolio.

Prior to his current position, Rohit served as Executive Director in the Siemens PLM Products Strategic Planning group and was responsible for portfolio planning, acquisition strategy/M&A analysis, and partner NPI identification.

Prior to joining Siemens PLM, Rohit spent eight years at MatrixOne Inc., as a Director in Product Management and Marketing roles. At MatrixOne he was responsible for several PLM products, industry solutions, and key customer deployments including NPI of Sourcing and Product Cost solutions. He also spent eight years in the automotive industry at TRW safety systems, where he was responsible for engineering analysis/CAE & CAD for product development on a global basis and support on product innovation at the R&D centers in Space Systems and Automotive. Rohit received the TRW Chairman’s Award for Innovation in 1997 for developing and being the first to market with a Seat Integrated Restraint (SIR) system that was installed in 2 million vehicles for an Automotive OEM vehicle platform.

Earlier in his career, Rohit was a software developer and consultant for Mechanical Dynamics Inc., an emerging CAE company focused on developing virtual prototyping and mechanical simulation software. There, he received the company President’s Award for performance in 1992 and 1993.

Rohit graduated with an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Derek Piette, Product Management Director, PTC

Derek Piette is a Product Management Director at PTC and is currently responsible for the product direction of PTC’s System Requirements and Validation solution within the ALM Segment. Derek also manages the integration between Windchill and Integrity. He has spoken at numerous events on the topics of hardware-software interaction, electronics and high tech, and PTC’s product direction.

Since joining PTC in 2003, Derek has held several positions within Product Management involving CAD data management, CAD integrations, requirements management, and complete product structures. Prior to joining PTC, Derek worked as an electrical and systems engineer for a semiconductor capital equipment supplier, KLA-Tencor.

Derek attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Doug joined PTC in August 1995 and has held positions within customer support, marketing, and product management for both the Integrity and Interoperability businesses since that time. Dr. Nicholas (Nick) Bell, CIO, Global Product Development, Information Technology, General Motors

Nick Bell was appointed as the CIO, Global Product Development in December 2012 and is responsible for all IT applications development and support of GM’s Global Product Development function, as well as contributing to the IT Transformational journey in General Motors IT.

Prior to his current position, Nick was Executive Director Vehicle Solutions IT. He has also served as the Global CIO for GM Information Technology, Manufacturing & Labor (from April 2010) and responsibility for GM IT’s “2010 Program” (re-contracting of out-sourced IT Global Service Contracts). Nick served as Chief Information Officer for General Motors North America from 2007 through 2009. In this position, Bell had accountability for all Information Technology and Systems for GM’s North American Operations.

Bell joined GM in 2005, as GM North America region, Process Information Officer for Sales, Service & Marketing Systems, from Volvo Car Corporation, where he was VP and CIO with responsibility for developing Volvo’s global Information Technology Strategy, as well as implementing IT change to align with Corporate objectives and create synergy with Ford Motor Company. Nick joined Ford Motor Company in 1984, in the United Kingdom, as a Systems Analyst, and progressed through a variety of leadership positions in Ford’s IT group in Europe and the US.

Bell holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from London University, UK. He earned a master’s degree from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University, England, where he also received his bachelor’s degree.

Mike Perez is the Strategic Projects and Services Manager for Technical Information Solutions at Caterpillar. Mike and his team are responsible for the management of Caterpillar’s Technical Information Transformation which is a joint development project with PTC to migrate, develop, and implement an integrated off-the shelf solution for technical information authoring, management, delivery, and access, replacing Caterpillar’s legacy solution. Mike is also responsible for operational support of the current technical information delivery system, media delivery, and Caterpillar’s Translation Services. Over his 28 year career at Caterpillar Mike has worked globally in the areas of Product Support and New Product Development supporting Caterpillar’s Dealer Network and customers. Mike holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.
