Rand Worldwide today announced its Rand 3D division will have a significant presence at the COE 2014 PLM Conference and TechniFair. Rand 3D experts will showcase their complete Dassault Systèmes design engineering solutions including software, training, support and consulting services as well as lead a training session on SIMULIA non-linear analysis. The conference will be held at the Hilton Anaheim in Orange County, California from April 27-30, 2014.

Attendees at the COE 2014 PLM Conference and TechniFair will have an opportunity to experience Rand 3D’s interactive training approach first hand as expert Iouri Apanovitch, senior engineering specialist for Rand Worldwide, leads a training session titled “Getting Started with SIMULIA non-linear Analysis.” Through a hands-on session in a computer lab, Iouri will walk participants through an exercise simulating insertion and removal of a plastic fastener into a steel panel. Along with Iouri’s technical knowledge, class participants will benefit from his experience as a university professor as well as his design analysis and validation experience across a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics and consumer goods.
Upon completion of this interactive session, attendees will be able to:

- Set up non-linear material properties
- Select element types
- Create analysis cases and steps
- Set up loads and boundary conditions
- Set up contact with friction
- Create output requests
- Submit the analysis job to the ABAQUS solver
