CGS Contributes to Charitable Organizations through Global Volunteerism and Philanthropic Campaigns

CGS announces several community involvement efforts throughout its global offices in 2014, including charitable campaigns and volunteer initiatives.

CGS offices, including in Romania, Chile, India, Canada and the United States, participated in several company-wide and divisional community initiatives such as on-site volunteerism, employee-led fundraisers and corporate donations benefiting organizations of significance to employees, including:

  • The Gantz Foundation, a Chilean organization that specializes in a multidisciplinary approach to aid children born with cleft lip and palate
  • Children’s organizations in Romania, including distress centers which aim to protect children in danger due to domestic issues
  • The Edison Township Domestic Violence Response Team in Edison, New Jersey, which provides education, guidance and supervision to victims of domestic violence
  • St. Aloysius School in Central Harlem, New York

Additionally, in support of the ALS Association, CGS garnered worldwide participation amongst its global offices in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge through the participation of over 250 employees and corporate and employee donation.

Community initiatives have been a part of the company’s culture since its inception in 1984. “Social responsibility is a great part of who we are at CGS – not just regionally, but globally,” said Phil Friedman, President and CEO of CGS. “Working together as a team toward the betterment of our community makes us stronger as a company, and helps keep us aware of the bigger picture. In addition to offering superior products and solutions to our customers, we aim to utilize our influence within our communities to improve the lives of those around us.”

Friedman currently serves on the board of the Tom Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Tom Lantos Institute.
