Presentation will chronicle how SunPower deployed PLM throughout the organization by adopting a lean methodology.
Ann Arbor, Michigan, 12 May 2015—CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, announces that SunPower’s Senior Operations Program Manager, Pascal Rassinoux, will make a keynote presentation at PLM Road Map™ for the High Tech Electronics (HTE) Community. The event will take place on June 16th at the Biltmore Hotel & Suites in Santa Clara, California.
In his presentation, “How SunPower Deployed PLM Globally: Adopting PLM the Lean Way,” Pascal Rassinoux will share how his team responded to a challenge from SunPower’s leadership to find a way to get the benefits of a traditional PLM implementation only faster and better.
Six years ago SunPower had a number of challenges in new product introduction. In particular, each product team had its own distinct process and system for managing configurations and changes, making cross-functional collaboration difficult. At the same time SunPower was gearing up for its biggest challenge to date: construction of the California Solar Valley Ranch project.
In response attempts were made to launch a comprehensive, global PLM program in a traditional way, requiring consultants, IT professionals, a six-figure budget, and new hires to sustain the new tools. The plan failed to get funded. However, the need for a PLM solution did not go away.
This keynote presentation will chronicle how the SunPower team overcame these constraints by adopting a lean methodology, with a pragmatic, cloud-based approach to deploying PLM. That new approach successfully reinvigorated the PLM program back to the original, enterprise scope at a fraction of the cost.
As SunPower’s Senior Operations Program Manager, Pascal Rassinoux has implemented PLM solutions across multiple groups in over nine countries. He currently heads a team that is responsible for configuration management processes as they continue to extend PLM adoption throughout the enterprise.
