Accellera Systems Initiative (Accellera), electronics industry organization focused on the creation and adoption of electronic design automation (EDA) and intellectual property (IP) standards, announced today that the Accellera Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) Working Group has released the UVM 2017-1.0 reference implementation. “We have been very focused on updating the UVM reference implementation to match the new IEEE 1800.2 standard,” stated Justin Refice, Chair of the UVM Working Group. “We are aligned with the enhancements that make it more powerful and easier to use, and we have worked hard to address some inconsistencies between the UVM Register Layer and other standards. Our working group received a lot of feedback on the 0.9 release, and we were able to fix the bugs that were reported.  UVM 2017-1.0 also includes full documentation of the API that is provided in addition to 1800.2-2017.” The UVM 2017-1.0 reference implementation can be downloaded for free from Accellera. The IEEE 1800.2-2017 standard

Accenture has entered into an agreement to acquire Kolle Rebbe, one of Germany’s leading creative agencies, known for its digital-first approach. The Hamburg-based agency will become part of Accenture Interactive and strengthen its ability to create and deliver integrated brand experiences for clients in Germany and across other geographies. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval. Lvchi auto, a Shanghai-based automaker, has signed a strategic partnership with Siemens PLM Software Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Siemens. Four vice executive presidents from Lvchi and Dave Lauzun, strategy vice president of vehicle and railway transportation division and Cai Saohua, director of China auto team of Siemens PLM Software attended the agreement signing ceremony. After the deal, Lvchi auto will be able to start using the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, a Siemens PLM Software, in December this year. The Dassault Systèmes US Foundation announced today its support for Workshops for Warriors, a school that prepares veterans and transitioning service members for careers in advanced manufacturing. Through the support of a grant from the US Foundation, 81 veterans have graduated or enrolled in STEM certification programs. Workshops for Warriors solves two systemic issues: a gap in advanced manufacturing talent and the need to ensure service members and veterans a successful transition into an upwardly mobile civilian career. A more than $500 million software grant from Siemens will give University of Queensland students and researchers access to advanced technology, building their skills in digital and data driven industries. UQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj and Siemens Australia Chairman and CEO Jeff Connolly announced the partnership at UQ’s St Lucia campus today (12 November), alongside Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk. The grant includes licences for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software platform, which digitally tracks a product’s life from its design inception through to manufacture, use, maintenance and disposal. “This grant gives our students and researchers access to advanced software used by leaders in the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding and electronics sectors,” Professor Høj said. “With PLM software, a ‘product’ can be quite broadly defined, which means this software will benefit students across many disciplines. “A civil engineering project team will be able to test city traffic flows and use artificial intelligence
